None Can Call
None Can Call is my original indie EP under the name Rubberbands & Pencils. The title and cover art are a reference to Shakespeare's Macbeth.
The title is a quote from Lady Macbeth as she cries out about how her hands are stained with blood. The album cover is a collage of photos of me in my silhouette reaching out to wash my hands in the lake though I remain unable to reach.
None Can Call's music represents the artists fear and uncertainty for the future. Most of the songs were written when she was between 17 and 19 and was experiencing the fears associated with entering adulthood and the experiences during that time. Lady Macbeth's fear and guilt caused her to believe she was stuck forever dirtied by her actions. This felt relatable to the artist which inspired this desperate reach pose.
