Marianas Trench Takeover

Marianas Trench is a pop rock Canadian band. During their 2025 leg of the tour they have decided to give fans access to their official Snapchat account to promote the fan experience. I was given the opportunity to access the account and decided to make a motion graphic with permission from the social media manager.

The first focus for the project was to create something that felt related to the band itself. Their newest album has a paper craft style inspired by popup books so I knew I would replicate that in my piece. Looking at the album art I decided I wanted to only show one season to keep the video from feeling overwhelming.

This motion graphic was inspired by the Haven album art by Simon Paul & Garnet Armstrong of Reform AVW.

This was my first project in Adobe After Effects and working with motion graphics. initially I designed the graphic in Adobe Illustrator and then transferred the project to Ae. I had never tried to design for a social media platform before, so I faced many challenges along the way, but this project proved to be a fantastic learning experience and expanded my knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud.

This project was designed specifically for Snapchat, but was shared across multiple platforms including Instagram and YouTube.

Hi, I'm Samm! I'm a graphic designer. I graduated from Bowling Green State University. I specialize in editorial, advertising and brand design. I've enjoyed learning about color, typography, and the Adobe Creative Cloud, throughout my time at BGSU. I have graduated and am spending my job filling out my portfolio while looking for a job. 

Outside of design work I also dabble in digital, traditional, musical, and fiber arts. I utilize these skills in creating a distinct brand for myself and create expressive pieces of work.​
